God is Our Restorer

“So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the crawling locust, the consuming locust, and the chewing locust, My great army which I sent among you. You shall eat in plenty and be satisfied, and praise the name of the LORD your God, who has dealt wondrously with you; And My people shall never be put to shame. Then you shall know that I am in the midst of Israel: I am the LORD your God and there is no other. My people shall never be put to shame.

Commentary/Meditation

Beloved, the Lord our God is a Restorer, who specializes in restoring life and virtue. This is why He sent His Son to die for the restoration of mankind; and God’s Word reveals that with this restoration also comes the restoration of everything we need for life and godliness (2 Peter 1:3); meaning there is nothing we need for our spiritual, physical and material sustenance that has not been provided for by Christ’s atoning death on the cross. So the issue is not if it has been restored, but rather taking advantage of that which has been restored.
